to be fair, it was in the context of which brother would be better able to cope without the support of any other family

so jensen saying dean wouldn’t be able to cope as well as sam at least to me implies that he thinks dean wouldn’t be able to go on in life without sam but also…without cas

tldr: dean wouldn’t have been able to keep living without the people he loves around him, whereas sam could do this better

Exactly. And we saw examples of Dean at least trying to move on without Sam, yet when Cas died a few seasons ago, he damn near lost his mind. I think we can take a lot from that. It’s not Jensen saying the finale was good, he’s just talking about what his character would do in a certain scenario.
