Like the second Jensen Ackles wasn't in "could semi-plausibly play a teenager or college student on a CW show" territory anymore they started writing all these jokes at Dean's expense about aging and having him react with dismay.

But in the SPN world of hunters? Hell forget that, in the context of Dean's life specifically? Growing old should be romanticized to hell and back! The idea of getting old enough to have wrinkles, gray hair? That should have been so romanticized and seen as such an achievement, like that should have been the kind of thing that makes people tear up a little bit, because it so rare to see that happen for hunters in general and it's something that Dean specifically never thought he'd have.
